Therapy Dog Training
Do you think your dog has the right stuff for therapy work, and do you want to share their sweet nature with others? Therapy dogs bring many benefits to people in different settings.
While the best therapy dog candidates innately have an unflappable and extroverted disposition, they do need to learn basic skills to pass a therapy dog evaluation. We can help you teach your dog the basic skills required to be a therapy dog, determine if your dog would be a good candidate for therapy work, and coach you through the therapy dog evaluation process.
JHPT’s Krissi handles our therapy work requests. She first recognized therapy work to be a valuable community service after learning of its beneficial effect in a broad spectrum of settings. When the right dogs rolled into her life for this type of job, she went through the process and passed the Teton County Pet Partners evaluation with both her own dog as well as a foster dog. Since then, she’s helped a number of people go through the process with their own dogs. The world needs more therapy teams!
If you think your dog has potential and you’d be interested in becoming a therapy team, contact Krissi at (307) 739-9185 or kg.jhpt@gmail.com. Initial phone consults are free.
