Newly Adopted Dog Support

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and nothing could be truer when it comes to a newly arrived dog!

There are lots of ways to set up a new arrival for success, but also lots of ways to unintentionally set up for potential problems. In our Newly Adopted Dog initial session we cover: 

-the three best practices for ensuring a smooth transition; 

-recognizing canine communicate so you can get to know your new pup as well as spot trouble sooner; 

-what skills to teach first;

-how to introduce your new dog to your resident dog(s) or cat(s);

-how to set up for success in homes with children;

-and how to use good management and general stress reducers with the goal of helping this transition be as stress-free as possible for both humans and canines alike!

We know that benchmarks for behavior change in a newly adopted dog are 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We are here to help you every step of the way to help you help your newly adopted dog develop into an enjoyable, confident companion with habits you love!
